CSM offers free website options again

As of January 21st we have re-launched the option for a free ad supported CSM website, all website trials have been converted to free ad supported websites.

As many of you are aware we eliminated the free website option last year due to problems with offering free websites and everything we were trying to include with them in additional to cash flow issues because advertisements on websites would not support our operational demands.

Anyone can create a free ad supported website with some changes from when we used to offer free websites as a norm.

Some of the new limitations on the free sites will include;

Limitations on the number of pages, and page elements.
2 Total Ads per page plus site sponsors
New footer website bar on all free websites will feature an 1 advertisement of our 2 page advertisements and a new noticeable and easy to use "report this site" option so we can be notified when people seek to use our sites for abuse, along with other help full tools designed for site visitor usage.
Free websites will be deleted regularly if there is no user logins in a 30 day period. (1 Email notice will be sent before site deletion takes place.)
Free sites will run separate from people that upgrade thus maintaining page load times and site speed for our paying customers.
No support will be included for free accounts other then members helping members in our public forums, full support by our team will be reserved for pay customers via phone, support tickets and live chat.

With the free ad-supported plan we rely on a site bringing a great deal of traffic to pay for the hosting expense of keeping the site online. For this reason we have strict deletion criteria; so that if a free website drops in visits and logins over any given month it will be purged from the system. With our paid plans this is not the case and you never have to worry about your site and content being deleted.

Everything has to be paid for in some way. The way that we pay for the free sites to be hosted is through advertising and advertising requires lots of eyeballs. Don't want ads on your site? Get one of the paid plans.

These new limitations help us avoid our past pitfalls with offering free before, but we really depend on people upgrading to our premium services to maintain the level of quality and value we have always offered to our customers.

By making this change will allows us to still offer a great value to those that will not or can not pay for a website while giving additional value to those that wish to upgrade.

Navigation Bug Fix for IE6

With this latest update we have tracked down a particularly pesky bug and smashed it mercilessly into the ground. It had reared its ugly head when PNG backgrounds were being used in navigation areas and the page was being viewed in IE 6. It would render the navigation useless and unclickable. This issue is now a thing of the past. Thanks to some new coding IE 6 still supports PNGs in all the right places without causing problems in other aspects of the site.

Spruz Wizardry (New Update)

In an effort to make the Spruz site system easier for new users we have added a site setup wizard immediately following the site creation process. The new wizard with guide you through the first steps in getting your information online and ready for others to see, by helping you add information about your site, set up your key words, add forums, galleries, etc. Also in this release we have, as usual, quashed a lot of reported bugs. If you are lucky enough to have seen an error message on our site, I would like thank you for helping with the development process, as we do get all those error reports and work to correct the issues as quickly as possible. As always we are trying to make things simpler and better. To do this we need to know what you think, and how you use, the system. If you are getting confused when trying to do something let us know, and we will work toward making that process easier to understand. If you have a suggestion for a new feature or addition that will make things easier for you, please feel free to post in the Feature Suggestion forum.

New Update Released

We have been keeping things cooking at Spruz Inc. I have applied a new update on all sites. This update has some major fixes for the group member system. The New changes include: Merged the group options into the Group Members section; you can now edit your settings for the group including a new option to automatically add registered member signups to your group once they confirm their email. In addition the group member public page has been cleaned up a bit. With the power of the member categories we have removed the founder boxes and replaced it with the Join GROUPNAME option. The Join group will only appear if you have a group join password set or you have questions on your group application. Additionally you can now manually remove invited members by clicking on the member name to load the group member menus. Edit links have been added to all page builder page options including built-in systems to make it easier for you to make changes to the section. We are working hard to make the flow of making changes effortless. Other new updates include; several bug fixes to text and submit problems, updates to the registration system, new page elements and updates for more on page administration of built-in system components like the knowledge base. We have many more updates planned for the next 1-2 months, so look forward to some exciting updates.

We have recently added 6 new themes, New Color Coded Administration Navigation and 3 new page elements. You can visit your Page Builder to add any element that you want.

The New Elements Include:
Forum Information (In Forum Category) This will add a box to display top and hot topics from your forums.

Group Member Box (In Community Category) Now you can display information about your members on any page. This will display basic details and link to their profile pages. If they have an picture uploaded it will display a small thumbnail image.

Form Element (In Form Category) Ever want to add a contact form or an form on your page to gather more details about your visitors. With our new form element you can add a nice email form to your page that will send you information you select to collect.

Coming Soon...

We are working on some new upgrades to the Group Roster and Application system that should be out in a week or two. These updates include a more customizable Group List and some fixes to the applications. We will be adding some new option to allow your application page to be set to all can join. Meaning anyone that visits that page can automatically be added to your rosters.

Forums! Yes we will be working on some new features and fixes to the forums. Part of this update will include more forum elements you can add to your home page that directly tie into some of the new features we have planned for the forums. Credit Card Payments Now Accepted!!

To give our members more options to pay for the site upgrade, we have added Credit Card Payments. We now Accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. We do value our users and answer to your requests. I know there are many of you that hate PayPal, this will give you another option to pay if you no longer want those ads on your site, and maybe you want more space, personal domain name, unlimited elements, or dedicated support. When paying for the upgrade the Option for credit card is now in the drop down box. Thank you for your support, Jay

New Site Searching

We have updated the core with some more updates and fixes.

One new addition in this update is the new site searching. This has been designed in order to improve searching of sites and to help hosted sites increase there Google search rankings through new algorithms designed to boost index frequency.

To give you some tips on making sure your site comes up better make sure you have your site keywords and site description entered in the Site Properties section of Admin.

We have released our first update for the new site version. We do listen to our users and have added a number of corrections and fixes to the update that was released March 9th. Included in this update are the following: We have raised the page element limit to 20 from 12. We have realized we are giving so much for free there are no real reasons for users to upgrade other then removal of ad space. Advertisements alone do not pay the bills unless we hosted 100�s of thousands of sites. The majority of sites that do upgrade are the non-gamer sites that have discovered us. The inline HTML editor for custom areas have been removed and placed in a popup loader. This was done because if a page has many custom box areas the page will load slowly because each editor must load in the background for those sections. Corrected an issue on the Layout Generator, Fixed an error with the registration system, enabled the preview and edit links on the link manager. Added an option to delete navigation boxes from the link manager, fixed our upload filter for uploading music and flash files, and included a few other fixed that were reported using our live error reporting system. Coming Soon: New Help and Support System, 5 New Page Elements, New Themes, and Help Videos. Please comment on how you like the update. For support related or usability questions please post in the support forums. To answer some common questions about this update: My Shout Box is gone: Anything other then the Nav Boxes and Custom Boxes could not be carried over in this update since we designed a new element system that is far more flexible. To re-add it Go to the add element button on the page builder and add it back to your site. All shouts were saved and will be restored once added. The same goes for the Whos Online. My Donation Box is Gone: This was removed all together with this update. The donations was to make it easier for Groups to collect money for the upgrade. Most people didn�t take the time to read that part when adding it and thought they could withdraw the funds. In addition we have adapted a new policy: Negative Critique without purpose will be deleted. For those of you that are using this system for free do not make demands, have some manner and respect for having the opportunity to get so many features for free. Believe me we want to fix any issues and problems but people that go WTF or Fix it now will find themselves without a site. If you got problems or see issues please tell us but tell us what the issue is or if it is something you don�t like give us an idea to improve upon.

I am pleased to announce the new Spruz 1.0 update has been released as promised and on time. We had limitations on what we could test due to the massive number of areas that were part of this update. If you see issues, problems, or errors please post them in our CSM forums. We have a thread setup just for this update.

We will be releasing a help section and video soon on the new updates. In addition if any has suggestions for us please post them in our forums.

Feedback is valuable to us. Please post what you think about this update on this post. Post what you like about it or don't like (Include the reason why so we can improve).

Major Update Coming Friday March 9th!

We have been working hard to bring you the most powerful yet easy to use site creation system on the NET. This coming Friday, expect some downtime between 9am � Noon for our largest update since the release of CSM version 3. This update will take the Clan Site Manager Site Software to a new level. The Software that powers CSM will now be called SpruzWeb. Clan Site Manager will still be the primary hosting site for gamers, clans, and guilds. SpruzWeb will open the system up to other markets with far more flexibility then any other hosted site building engine on the NET. Some great features to look forward in this update include: A Whole New Page Content Control System. This is an, all new editor that will make creating Pages, Links, and Dynamic Pages much easier. The old way of managing links and nav boxes is gone. System features full drag and drop arrangements and orders of links, and page elements. We have also built in an HTML Editor for building new pages. Other updates include; ability to change your domain name after your site is created, new site property options, page security settings, new page elements, more themes, and much more. As an important part of any update we have fixed 4 major bugs and corrected 100s of other possible problems. Please post your thoughts on this update. We love hearing feedback from our users.
